Sammy Staples was originally a record company executive from Miami. After his embrace he managed to maintain his contacts in the industry even though he didn’t actually continue working in it. He got involved in some organized crime, serving as muscle and drug trafficking, but thought that the Italian families were too ‘light’ and started looking toward the west coast and LA in particular and what the Yakusa had to offer. He had been embraced for ten years when he contacted Anna in 2003 and she arranged for him to come to LA.
