Jean-René is of French descent, originally from New Orleans area, and his family had plantations in several locations around Louisiana. After his embrace in the late 1800s, he left the area to travel the world with Jessica, his sire. He liked the south and returned there, to Savannah, Georgia, where the Primogen owed him a favor.

In the 1920s, Jean-René decided he wanted a childe. Jessica’s ghoul had recently married and begun a family. It was decided that his youngest daughter would be groomed for Jean Rene to embrace. Heather was raised with every advantage Jean Rene could afford, even finishing school in Switzerland. She had no idea what she was being prepared for, but she learned her lessons well.

On the night of her debutante ball, Jean-René could wait no longer. During a walk by the lake, he first embraced her, then took her as his lover. To his relief she was thrilled at what he’d done, and eager to learn about her new existence. They are currently touring Europe before returning to Savannah for their wedding.

Although Jean-René is wealthy, he is still very much involved in the underlings' rights. He is big in the unions such as the teamsters and the UAW. He invested in some very profitable companies during the Depression, has taken Heather’s dowry and invested it wisely.
